One of the operators in Tromsø is Northernlightguide, whose goal is to drive to areas with the best opportunities to experience the enchanting northern lights.
The longest trips can reach Finland, with a distance of about 210 km each way, but our priority is to find the northern lights nearby. Although they cannot guarantee the Northern Lights, the organizers do everything possible to increase the chances of seeing them.
If the weather permits, a cosy atmosphere is created with a bonfire, serving hot drinks and light snacks. They recommend that all guests wear warm clothing and appropriate shoes before the trip.
For those in need, warm coveralls and shoes are provided. The Northern Lights tours start at 7:00 PM from the ice bar (the harbour terminal) for pickup. The trip lasts between 4.5 and 6.5 hours.
No toilets are on the buses, but breaks will be held when possible. We also encourage everyone to have a substantial meal before the trip to avoid starting on an empty stomach. Upon returning to Tromsø, arrangements will be made to ensure guests are transported to their hotels or residences within a 15 km radius. For guests outside this area, taxis can be arranged so everyone can reach their destination safely and conveniently.
