The Hardangerfjord

Hardangerfjord is Norway's second largest fjord and close to Bergen.

The Hardangerfjord region offers spellbinding scenery. The area is known worldwide for national parks, tourist routes, fjords, waterfalls and glaciers. In the inner reaches of Hardangerfjorden, you will find the Eidfjord area, with steep mountains and massive waterfalls. Another highlight here is Viking burial mounds and Hardangervidda Natursenter.

Have an active holiday

Discovering nature through activity can be the perfect mix. For adventure lovers, Hardanger is the place. The parks and fjords provide many possibilities for hiking, biking, or kayaking. A guided adventure tour is recommended, but you can also rent a car and go on a trip.

Visit  also Trolltunga

One of the highlights is the hike to Trolltunga, one of Norway`s most famous hiking trips. Only nature can create something so special as Trolltunga, a rock that struts horizontally from a cliff 700 metres above Lake Ringedal in Skjeggedal.

The National Tourist Routes

Hardanger offers fantastic national routes to pass by car or bus. The Hardanger and Hardangervidda national tourist routes take you through the most magnificent landscapes in Norway, with unforgettable viewpoints from which to take photos. If you have the option, don`t forget to visit the Vøringsfossen Waterfall.

Hardangerfjord on a cruise tour

If you can join a cruise tour on the Hardangerfjord, you will never regret it. You will find good offers from Bergen, and it can be recommended to plan a cruise tour, which also gives you the option to visit local fjord villages like Herand, Utne, Lofthus, Kinsarvik, Ulvik and Eidfjord.
